About Gerber Currency
Gerber Currency converts between about 170 currencies using daily reference rates published by central banks such as the European Central Bank – the neutral rate that banks and card networks start from before adding their margin.
Type into either field, swap with one tap, and check how a pair moved over the last week, month, quarter or year. Rates are saved on your device, so the converter keeps working offline – with the last saved rate.

Questions and answers
Where do the exchange rates come from?
From Frankfurter (frankfurter.dev), a free, open-source service that collects the official reference rates of more than 100 central banks, including the European Central Bank and the Deutsche Bundesbank. Rates and history charts both come from there.
Are these the rates my bank or card will charge?
No. Gerber Currency shows reference rates. Banks, card providers and exchange offices usually add a margin or fees, so the amount you actually pay or receive will differ. The results are a reference, not financial advice.
How up to date are the rates?
Central banks publish once per working day, the ECB around 16:00 CET. The app shows the date of the rate it uses and saves it for four hours before checking again. The refresh button fetches new rates at any time.
Why is the history missing or shorter for some currencies?
Some central banks publish only on certain days or started recently. If there are fewer than two data points in the chosen range, the converter still works, but no chart is shown.
Does it work offline and can I install it?
Yes. After the first visit the app and the last rates are stored on your device. Offline it naturally calculates with the last saved rate, not today’s: a notice shows the date of that rate until you are back online. On iPhone and iPad open it in Safari and choose Share, then Add to Home Screen. In Chrome, Edge and on Android use the Install button at the top.
What data does the app collect?
None. There are no ads, no analytics and no cookies. Your currency pair, amount and settings are kept only in your browser. To load rates, your browser contacts api.frankfurter.dev directly; according to Frankfurter, the API does not log IP addresses or requests.
